In this first of two podcasts, Dr. Jude Bergkamp discusses the uncomfortable tension between culturally responsive practice and the domain of forensic psychology. He describes this relationship across time and domains and considers how forensic psychology has been slower to adopt sociocultural frameworks. We also discuss how the American Psychological Association Multicultural Guidelines apply to forensic evaluation. We end this half of our discussion with consideration of racial and other disparities from the global to the individual level and how to incorporate this information into our work.
